Ask a question, get an answer from the source. Nalanda is a learning app that answers your questions with passages from ancient texts, shown alongside their original context.
I built it on my own, from idea to App Store: the roadmap, the design, the SwiftUI and Supabase engineering, the RAG search, and the launch. I also set up the business side, from forming the LLC to writing the terms of service.
I'm also in the competition's official highlights reel.
UC Santa Cruz's student investment organization since 2016. I'm Co-President and CFO, and I co-founded the club's 501(c)(3) nonprofit: we incorporated with the State of California, received our tax-exempt status from the IRS, opened the club's bank account, and raised $700 in seed donations.
I also teach the club's weekly value-investing sessions on stock and bond analysis, and I led our partnership with the CFA Society.
Books, manga, anime, and my life
On my channel I talk about the stories I love: books like A Gentleman in Moscow, manga and anime like One Piece, and the craft behind them. I also post videos about my own life, from writing a novel to pitching Nalanda on stage.

Ep. 1How to Write Death Like Game of Thrones · 9:58

In today's post, we’re going to talk about book one of A Song of Ice and Fire, or as you all know it, A Game of Thrones and what it got right: death. More specifically,…
Because I read American Prometheus: the triumph and tragedy of Oppenheimer before it received a film adaptation, I was unduly optimistic going into the movie, mostly…
Telling people I'm a writer is like telling them I'm an astronaut.
Ask a question, get the number and the filing it came from. Angreal is a research workspace I'm building that turns SEC filings and Federal Reserve data into answers, from the economy down to a single company's 10-K.
Type a question like "META pe ratio trend over time" and it pulls the figures straight from SEC filings, adds market prices, and shows where each number came from.
I'm studying Business Management Economics with a concentration in Accounting at UC Santa Cruz, graduating in Fall 2027, and I'll be eligible to sit for the CPA exam when I graduate. I spend most of my time outside class building things.
The biggest of those is Nalanda, an app that lets people ask questions of ancient texts and get back the passages that answer them. I built it alone: I digitized the source texts with my own OCR pipeline, designed the retrieval search and a recommendation engine, built the monetization model, and launched it on the App Store in October 2026.
On campus, I'm Co-President and CFO of the Slug Fund Investment Group, where I teach weekly value-investing sessions on stock and bond analysis. I helped found our 501(c)(3) student endowment, made us an approved CFA Society partner, and built our website. I'm also on the board of Startup Club, where I help run Ideathon, Slug Tank and Launchpad.
Outside of school, I'm an Eagle Scout. I was Senior Patrol Leader of Troop 2001, and I'm back with the troop now as a Junior Assistant Scoutmaster.
I'm currently looking for opportunities in product and finance. If you think I'd be a good fit for your team, I'd love to hear from you.
